Featured CSAT Sponsor: Straightline Orthodontics

August 31, 2020

CSAT has been fortunate to have Straightline Orthodontics as a Gold Level Sponsor for the past four years.  Dr. Kara Hobson (aka, Bode’s mom) loves being part of the CSAT family and the decision to support the team was an easy one. Growing up in Portland, Kara was passionate about ski racing and raced herself.  She remembers the dedication of her mom (who didn’t even ski) getting up early and driving her to training and races on Mt. Hood and around the Northwest.  As soon as her son (now 7) was old enough to race, she jumped at the chance to support her new ski and mountain bike family by sponsoring Cooper Spur.  “I love being on the mountain, cheering on all of our Cooper Spur athletes, seeing their beaming smiles from the podium, and of course watching Bode pass me on the ski slopes and mountain bike trails!”

Kara’s passion for oral wellness is fueled by the thousands of smiles she has crafted over the past 15 years. “I love creating healthy, beautiful smiles and working with people of all ages! The confidence and self-esteem patients gain after having orthodontic treatment is life-changing. My staff enjoy developing relationships with our families, and I love engaging with my patients about their accomplishments and adventures on a daily basis.”

Kara attended Santa Clara University for college, University of Washington School of Dentistry, and then OHSU for her Orthodontic Residency. The OHSU 30-month specialty program is where she gained the experience and training needed to manage tooth movement, align jaws, and guide facial development during growth. She has dedicated her professional life to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of orthodontic problems.

Straightline Orthodontics was established in Hood River in 2015. “After ten years of working in Vancouver and commuting from Portland to Hood River, I really wanted to establish a life here full-time and have my own practice. It’s the perfect place to raise Bode and such an amazing community.”

Kara has treated thousands of orthodontic patients in her career. Her staff of eight typically serve around 40 patients per day.  She provides multiple treatment options for children, teens, and adults, from early intervention with appliances for growth modification to comprehensive treatment with braces and Invisalign.  For more information about what treatment is right for you, call 541-716-5032 or visit straightlineorthodontics.com to schedule your complimentary consultation.
