The Cooper Spur Race Team survives largely on your volunteer participation in the program and at fundraising functions throughout the year. To insure this participation, CSRT requires each member family to post a deposit at the beginning of each season in the amount of $200.00 per family for the Devo, Training Team, Competition Team, & J3 Team Athletes, deposit not applicable to Cooper Camp racers. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the ski season – provided that the family has worked off their deposit according to the following rules. If only part of the volunteer requirement has been met, the entire check will be forfeited at the end of the season- April 30. All families are requested to help us host at least three events. A family electing not to volunteer at any races or fund-raising events will forfeit their deposit.
Each family is required to provide an adult volunteer for three (3) “events” per year. J3 & Competition Team families are required to volunteer for four (4) “events” per year. Families of “Cooper Camp” racers only are not required to volunteer. The year runs from June 1st to May 31st of the following year. An “event” is any CSRT hosted ski race, CSRT team fundraisers: Fall Fundraising event, Wreath Sale, and Ski a Thon, service on the Executive Board or fundraiser committee, or assistance in special projects.
Special fundraising activities that benefit the team will also be credited. If a member family secures business donations or goods in excess of $500 (or contributes personally greater than this amount), then one volunteer requirement will be satisfied. Participation in other activities will be considered with prior approval of the CSRT Board. The Volunteer Coordinator will be in charge of tracking participation.
Parents must read and understand the foregoing description of the CSRT Volunteer Deposit and agree to post a check for the deposit amount as assurance that they will participate in fundraising and other activities for the club. Parents will understand that if they do not fulfill the participation requirements as outlined above, they will forfeit the deposit at the end of the ski season.
