Cooper Spur Alpine Team is a 501 (3)C that provides opportunities to youth, ages 5 through 18, who have the desire to train and compete in the sport of ski racing, slopestyle, park/pipe, and mountain biking. We offer local youth the opportunity to experience structured physical activity in winter and summer sports, with highly experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping skiers and riders at all levels reach their goals. Excellence in skiing and competition is only part of CSAT’s mission. Our programs help youth develop important life skills and values such as cooperation, teamwork, positive attitude, honesty, and dedication. We pride ourselves on producing some of the top ski racers in the Pacific Northwest.
Provide youth the opportunity to develop as athletes and people through competitive alpine sports that emphasize strength of character, sportsmanship, respect and love of sport.
Originally founded in 1978, Cooper Spur Alpine Team has provided over 35 years of programming to develop youth ski racing in the Columbia River Gorge and Portland populations. In 1984 the team became a 501(3)C non profit with an established board and by-laws. In 2000 the Board hired a full-time program director to run and direct ski programming. In 2012 CSAT expanded its programming to provide instruction in freeride and mountain biking. In 2015 Cooper Spur Race Team modified their name to Cooper Spur Alpine Team to reflect mountain bike and FreeRide program expansion.
